Privacy Policy

1. Publisher and app concerned

This privacy policy applies to the mobile app “صل على محمد - Muslim Reminder” (Android package: com.mga5.buttontocount), published on Google Play and the App Store by the developer Muslim Reminder, and to the website muslim-reminder.com.

2. Our principle

Muslim Reminder is a not-for-profit waqf: no ads, no ad trackers, no selling of data. We collect the strict minimum needed to operate and improve the service.

3. Data processed by the app

The app does not require any account.

Your location is used only to compute prayer times and qibla direction; it is processed on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Your preferences (language, notification settings, Quran reading progress, tasbih counters), your favorites and your notes are stored locally on your device. Only an anonymous summary of some settings is sent, under the conditions described in sections 4 and 5.

4. Anonymous usage statistics

To know which features are used and guide our development, the app sends anonymous statistics at most once a day: app and system version, language, a few settings in an approximate form (for example the reminder frequency, the prayer time calculation method, the notification mode of each prayer, the chosen Quran translation, the number of favorites) and how many times the screens and a few actions are used (Quran pages read, tasbih…).

These statistics contain no identifier of your device or of you, nor your location, nor the content of your notes or favorites. The country is derived from the connection at the time of sending; the IP address is not kept.

The submissions are kept for 60 days, after which only daily totals are kept. You can turn these statistics off at any time in the app settings.

5. Error reports

When an error occurs, the app sends a technical report to our error tracking service (Sentry, with data hosted in the European Union): device model and system, app version, error trace and the same anonymous summary of settings as in section 4, without your location or your notes. Performance measurements (screen display times) are also sent.

These reports carry a technical identifier specific to the app on your device, provided by the system, which lets us link a bug report to the errors encountered. They are kept for a limited time, then deleted automatically.

6. Contact form

When you contact us (from the app or the website), your message, your email address if provided, and basic technical information (system, app version and, from the app, its technical identifier described in section 5) are transmitted to us in order to handle your request. This data is used only to reply to you and is kept for the time needed to process the request.

7. Notifications

Reminders and notifications are scheduled locally by your device's system. You can disable them at any time in the settings.

8. Third-party services

The website and the app's API (contact forms, anonymous statistics) are hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical logs (IP addresses) for security purposes.

Error reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), with data hosted in the European Union.

The series episodes are hosted by archive.org; playing them is subject to that service's terms.

Downloading the app through the App Store or Google Play is subject to Apple's and Google's privacy policies.

9. Cookies

The website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

10. Your rights

You may request access to, rectification or deletion of data concerning you (for example a contact message) by writing to us via the Contact page.

The anonymous statistics cannot identify you and therefore cannot be linked to such a request; you can however turn them off in the app settings.

This policy may evolve. The applicable version is the one published on this page, with its update date.
